Dan Brown is an author best known for writing the 2003 best-selling book The Da Vinci Code. The Da Vinci Code considers the possibility of Jesus Christ having been married to Mary Magdalene and fathering a child with her. When the book came out, it was denounced harshly by many Christians for presenting an interpretation of history and Jesus that is different from traditional Christian views. While it is a work of fiction, it contains thoroughly researched data and is generally regarded as containing credible historic information. As the book says, "All descriptions of artwork, architecture, documents, and secret rituals in this novel are accurate."
